
Anthony Cardon is the Chief of the Peace Mission Support Section in the New York Office of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN-OHCHR), covering support to human rights components in eleven UN peacekeeping and special political missions. He was previously in charge of OHCHR engagement with regional organizations (African Union and European Union) on peace and security. He was also responsible for the rollover of the Human Rights Due Diligence Policy (HRDDP) throughout the UN-system.
Mr. Cardon worked more than 5 years with the largest ever OHCHR operation in the field in Nepal during the peace process where he was coordinator of regional offices and in charge of transitional justice and impunity related questions. He also worked with OHCHR in Geneva in Treaty Bodies and Special Procedures. He is a lawyer who practiced with the Brussels bar, Belgium. He holds an LLM in international law.
