Avril Elliot is the Country Director for the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in Libya. She has worked in the humanitarian and non-profit sectors for over a decade, initially in her home country, Ireland, as a community youth worker, and in various programmatic and management capacities in Africa and the Middle East. She holds expertise in emergency response, recovery initiatives and solutions to displacement.
Ms. Elliot is committed to accountable leadership, partnership, and the promotion of human rights. She advocates for localisation and transition strategies as an integral component of humanitarian exit strategies.
