
Caterina Becorpi started in the Movement as a volunteer at the Italian Red Cross about 23 years ago. She has continued working in the Movement as Head of Delegation for the Italian and German Red Cross (Haiti) first and as Cooperation Coordinator for ICRC in Venezuela and Iraq. In May 2020, she became the Safer Access Framework global adviser at ICRC HQ, with a specific focus on operational security management. Among other tasks, she supports National Societies in strengthening their security management capacities.
In January 2022, Ms. Becorpi took the position of Movement Cooperation Head of Sector for the Americas. Before working for the Movement, Caterina has worked for other NGOs mainly in Western (Togo and Sierra Leone) and Southern Africa (Zambia) and in the development sector. Her academic studies focused on mediation and conflict transformation. She likes the sea and being outdoors when the weather is good; sharing a meal and a drink with friends and having fun in simple ways.
