
Cecilia Schmölzer is the Senior Officer for Urban Preparedness and Response with the IFRC (International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies). She holds master’s degrees in Architecture and Human Settlements and has been involved in humanitarian work since 2008. She has managed post-tsunami reconstruction projects in Sri Lanka (with GRC), and coordinated large scale damage assessment, rubble removal and technical capacity building for the Ministry of Public Works in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake (with UNOPS). Cecilia has headed the IFRC-Shelter Research Unit and has been the Focal Point for Technical Coordination for the Global Shelter Cluster, deployed in coordination roles in multiple post-disaster contexts (Madagascar, Haiti, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Mozambique).
