Davide Zappa, Advanced Degree in Political Sciences, is the Asia-Pacific Regional Thematic Expert on Disaster Risk Reduction for the European Commission’s Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (DG ECHO), based in Bangkok, Thailand. With over 20 years’ experience in humanitarian assistance, most of which field-based, he was initially posted to East Timor and has worked in a variety of roles in 25 Asian and 10 African countries. He first joined ECHO in 2012, and have been previously based in New Delhi and Amman Regional Offices.
Mr. Zappa also worked for the UK Department of International Development (DFID), Timorese, British and Italian NGOs, as well as for the Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement.
