
Mr. François Kayitakire leads the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Research and Development Department, ensuring ARC remains on the cutting edge of global natural disaster risk management. He joined ARC in 2019 on secondment from the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) where he had been leading the team working on resilience, food and nutrition security, to provide scientific advice to EU services responsible for international development cooperation and humanitarian actions.
Mr. Kayitakire’s research activities focused on developing innovative solutions, from early warning to response financing, for food security crisis and agricultural risk management in developing countries. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Sciences received from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL), Belgium.
