Ghada Al Jadba is UNRWA’s Chief of Field Health Programme since April 2015. She is Palestinian and was born in Gaza on 15 July 1968. She is leading a Health Programme in Gaza, which provides basic and lifesaving health services to about 1.3 million Palestine refugees, equivalent to more than 80% of the total population in Gaza. She is responsible for meeting all the basic health needs of the served population in terms of primary health care services, including lifesaving health services targeting women, children and other patients with non-communicable diseases and current illnesses.
Ms. Al Jadba has led the Health Programme in UNRWA Gaza Field in a very challenging context over the last four years, trying to improve health services and support the quality of life of Palestine refugees in Gaza, especially the most vulnerable ones like women in reproductive age and children. She has worked in UNRWA Gaza Field facing difficult emergency situations like in the 2014 Gaza war, managing health centers as area health officer. Having faced the huge impact on human health linked to the ‘Great March of Return’ since March 2018, she is now responding to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic for Gaza refugees. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Al Quds University.
