
Gisandre Dominique has a background in Finance and Project Management. Prior to her joining the ICRC she worked several years in the private and banking sector. In 2004, she joined the ICRC and worked in several countries such as Haiti, Sudan (Darfur), Senegal, Cameroun, Rwanda and Ivory Coast. She brings with her 18 years of experience with the Movement in her role as Cooperation Coordinator, coordinating the building of positive relationships between the ICRC and other Movement Components, particularly the local National Societies. From 2016 to 2020, as the Safer Access Regional Advisor for Africa, she contributed to the roll-out of the SAF, by raising awareness and supporting African National Societies in the concrete application of SAF and its operationalization in their respective contexts. This included supporting their strategies and regular analysis of trends that could impact their activities.
Ms. Dominique is very engaged in National Societies’ capacity strengthening and is constantly seeking opportunities to promote a Movement Coordinated approach for National Societies’ development initiatives.
