Ian Van Engelgem, MD, MPH, is a physician with further training on public health. He is currently based in Kinshasa, DRC, where he works as a health expert. Over the past 23 years, he has mostly been active in the field of humanitarian health (10 years with MSF and 11 years with DG ECHO). He has work experience in the management of (primary) healthcare in conflict settings; provision of healthcare services for refugees; management of disease control programs (malaria, HIV and TB) and disease outbreak control (Ebola, Yellow Fever, Rift Valley fever, Covid-19, Malaria).
