Maren Rahlf has fifteen years of experience in the development and humanitarian sector out of which she spent five in Southern Africa and the Sahel region. As Programme Manager and Trainer for Education for Sustainable Development her work focusses on civil society engagement, human rights, nutrition, gender, and advocacy.
Since March 2020, Ms. Rahlf coordinates the multi-country, multi-actor ToGETHER Programme at Welthungerhilfe. Financed by the German Federal Foreign Office, ToGETHER (Towards Greater Effectiveness and Timeliness in Humanitarian Emergency Response) promotes the localisation of humanitarian action and advocates for the leadership and decision-making role of local and national actors in the humanitarian system.
The Programme combines efforts of 44 organisations from nine countries: 40 local and national non-governmental organisations from Bangladesh, Colombia, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Somalia, and a consortium of four international, German organisations who jointly work towards more equal and complementary partnerships, joint capacity strengthening and sharing, and access to coordination and flexible, quality funding for local actors.
