
Martin Taschner is since 2018 Head of the Southeast Europe and Eastern Neighbourhood Unit in the European Commission's DG ECHO. He is dealing with the EU humanitarian support to refugees in Turkey, to conflict-affected populations in Ukraine and the Nagorno-Karabakh region and with the humanitarian assistance to vulnerable refugees and migrants in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Belarus. He has many years of experience in EU humanitarian aid in the Middle East and the European Neighbourhood. He is working with the European Commission since 2004
