
Mimidoo Achakpa, a women’s right activist with over a decade of experience in Project Management and an extensive background in governance, gender, humanitarian and disarmament issues, a Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) as well as Women Peace and Security (WPS) expert, Humanitarian Assistant in West Africa (HAWA) Trainer. She holds Master of Science (MSC) in Security and Strategic Studies and currently a Doctoral Student in Security and Strategic Studies, currently the Executive Director of Women’s Right to Education Programme (WREP), a CCD Nigeria member, and NGO with United Nations Consultative Status of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), which coordinates and belongs to various platforms in Nigeria. A member of International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA).
Ms Achapka is building the capacity of women on alternative dispute resolution and conflict resolution strategies using advocacy and training workshops to reduce violence against women, and engaged in the Network for Empowered Aid Response (NEAR), Gender and Disaster Network (GDNET) , Global Network on Disaster Reduction (GNDR) , and the National Coordinator of Women in Humanitarian Response in Nigeria Initiative Network and a Steering Committee Member of the Global Feminist Humanitarian Network.
