
Sumaiya Kabir is the Consortium Coordinator for the project ‘Supporting Forecast-based Action and Learning in Bangladesh’ (SUFAL) which is led by CARE, and includes Concern Worldwide, RIMES; and is financially supported by ECHO.
Over her career, Sumaiya has been working on disaster risk reduction and resilience projects with NGOs and UN in south and southeast Asia. She has focussed on community-based climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, gender equality and inclusion mainstreaming in disaster risk management, and anticipatory action. Most notably, she has worked on DIPECHO projects in the past, and more recently on ECHO-funded Forecast-based Action and Financing initiatives in Vietnam and Bangladesh.
