Valentina De Bernardi is DG ECHO Deputy Head of Unit C4, responsible for EU humanitarian assistance in Northern Africa, Iraq and the Arabian Peninsula, in particular Yemen. Valentina has over 20 years’ experience in humanitarian and development assistance, with a particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East region. Before joining DG ECHO in 2014, she covered different field-based positions with the EU, UN and INGO in Mozambique, Palestine and Angola.
Ms. de Bernardi holds a Master of Science in Economics and Management of Government and International Organisations from Bocconi University of Milan and a Master of Science in Population and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
