Per Velandia is Head of Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap (MSB)'s Humanitarian Response Section. He has been working with emergency response operations since 2008, primarily within the Swedish Government at MSB, but also through several positions with the UN, e.g. UNICEF and WFP. He has for example been working with emergency logistics in Ethiopia and Italy, emergency response coordination and preparedness in Switzerland and Thailand.
